Awsome Andy. In 1968 I played this on my French Horn in Band Class and won my challenge and moved up a chair. Thanks, Andy.

My condolences to you both whose losses are so connected to this song. No song propels me back to my youth than this one. I attended Tulane University in New Orleans, 1964 – 1968, I had this song played at my fraternity’s formals on the Riverboat President while cruising the Mississippi River with Old New Orleans in view. So sad, oh too sad

My Grandmother had …
My Grandmother had this song played for my Grandfather at his funeral, she said when their kids were younger they used to dance to this when they went to bed. It was their song, it was a very sad moment when we left the service and this was playing, you could see it in her face that she was remembering those nights and the tears didn’t stop until the song had finished. RIP pop xoxo we miss you : ‘ (

@colderbeer So true. That’s what kids are missing nowadays, Hope in the future! Remember how we used to think about the future as a better place yet to come?

@alexyomero76 So …
@alexyomero76 So true…and it’s so sad. President Kennedy was still alive when this song was done, and America was such a more special place with far more innocence. In 1963 when JFK was killed, the nation lost part of its soul, and it has never been the same. Now, it’s considered “uncool” by all of the a-holes that liter the entertainment world to record a beautiful and special song.
@RachJD1994 My …
@RachJD1994 My condolences to you and your family but I couldn’t think of a better song to be sung at a funeral, which is why I’ve left instructions for this version to be sung at mine.
