Which stock photography site is the best for photographers wanting to submit photos?

Hi

What are the differences between the major royalty free photography sites, from the point of view of contributors? Which sites have you found to be better/worse for submitting photos to, and why?

(My hope is to make a little extra cash from my ‘morgue file’ photos.)

Thanks for your thoughts :)

My favorite, and I have sold the most on is www.fotolia.com, I have one I am developing called www.kachoozie.com it should be online near the end of September 08.

Just be sure if you work with models to get the agreements in writing, so there are no issues once you upload the images.

I have tried a couple. I have a few on dreamstime.com. There is istockphoto.com – The problem with going on-line to these agencies is they see literally thousands of photos a week and generally when they reject an image its the old "not what we are looking for" and that is it. I’ve checked a couple of other sites but they assume all rights and if you leave they keep the images as theirs. Others have little exposure or offer little money. Again, they see thousands of images and have millions on hand so the pay rate is really low unless you have a name or have images that are totally unique.

I know this sounds disheartening (it is) but for some of us it creates a challenge to find in our files images that aren’t easily reproduced by some one with a digital camera and photo shop. I have thousands of images spanning 30 years that I am going through and trying to digitalized so I can up load.
