I love at the end, when the customer says — we’ll pay it this time, but you’ll have to show us how you made it so we can make it at home next time…

Thank goodness i’m not (yet) in into freelancing.

I started to make a personal website 3 months ago, and man, it’s harder than most people think (myself included). Makes me appreciate designers even more.

And then i get to see this video. Pure genius!

    No offence @ …
No offence @ScottLavender, but this happens all the time in business. Face value, it is what it is and it is very nicely done. If you read the comments, you will see that this video is appreciated because people face these challenges on a daily basis; just in a slightly different venue.

  8. This is great and …
This is great and applies to pretty much every artist and creative type. I am a writer and performer and I hear this crap all the time. The only meme they didn’t cover is the, “We want you to donate your time because it will be good publicity for you.” Thank you for making and sharing this incredibly salient piece of satire.

Hey guys – there is so much crap on YOUTUBE (dancing cats, 4000 versions of “Single lady” etc …) thank you for doing some quality work and a piece that totally hits home! I have heard the excuses in this video uttered by my own clients …. too much in fact – I may have to put a permanent to this on my website! Nice job gang!

    Typical LDS garage …
Typical LDS garage sale bargaining…. and Ew-tarins wonder why the rest of the USA basically hates us. Perhaps if we all had our bishop paying our rent, food, bills ect….. :(

    Newsflash: This is …
Newsflash: This is a political allegory, folks. It’s not about how your business clients try to get something more cheaply or literally steal your recipes.

  14. It is incredible …
It is incredible that there business owners out there that do this to other businesses. They want the talent, but don’t want to pay for it now. They’ll pay later, when their funding comes in, or some other excuse. They think you are hungry to work with them. Don’t do it. The later usually never comes. You’ll have a loyal leach for life. Be proud of your services and the good clients come.

Great video, btw. Shows the scenarios very poignantly.

    I can’t stand these …
I can’t stand these people! I deal with them all the time.
“Show us how you made it, so we can do it on our own in house.” Heard that a few times.
One time a millionaire wanted me to do some work for his website, but said he didn’t have money in the budget to pay me. What I was going to get instead was exposure. Total crap!! Do not give in to these users!! They are parasites!!
