What are coaches looking for to join the highschool basketball team?

I’m 5′9. 14 years old.
I played power forward all elementary school but now everyone is way taller. What position do you think i will have to play? and what is the coach going to be looking for to make the team?

point guard or shooting guard cuz im 5′8 and 16 years old and already play on a highschool team and my main position is point and sometimes shooting gaurd

    They are looking to see if you can play basketball.

    well if you have a good shot i would try for maybe a 2 or 3 guard, a high school coach will most likely be looking for dedication, hussle and work ethic, and course talent and good grades with no behavior problems in class. if you want to know more why not ask to coach?

    They are looking for all legit positions and of course the most important is the height. If you’re a center/pf you should be tall enough to be choose easily and if you’re sg/pg you need to be a good ball handler.
