this has got to be …
this has got to be one of the best ‘foreigner abroad’ shows I’ve seen. She speaks the language, doesn’t ’set up’ the locals, and they come across really well esp the older ones.
That old woman sitting down who says ‘you make do’ reminded me of my own mother; only Chinese woman in an English village 40 years ago, and life’s been difficult, usually because of others, but she’s soldiered on ‘have to make do’ she says. Bless.
