Looking for a mythological creature that is like the following?

this is from a tv series called the gates so it might not be 100% the same as in mythology but i am sure they got big things in it right. Also if anyone watches the show I am asking about leigh.

1. She looks like a human
2. She has to stay close to an object (unknown currently but it is kept inside a small box). When it was stolen after a while she started to have nose bleeds. She then killed the man who stole it afterwards.

possibly pandora. Could also be a ghost, spirit or demon who uses the box as anchor to this world.
