Is it okay to just call and ask when looking for a psychology internship opportunity at clinic and hospital?

I am a third year student pursuing a B.A. in psychology and eventually a doctorate. I am looking for internship opportunities for the first time and I’m not quite sure how I should approach this. I have a large list of all mental health hospitals and clinics in the area, but is it okay to just call to see if they have any opportunities available? Or should I be going in person?

Call them. That is the best thing to do. Go to webmd.com and search all psychology doctors. They will give you a list according to what area you live in. Then I would call them.

I did the same for Medical Assisting and a couple of them asked me to send in my resume.
