Im looking for a song for my school talent show?
I’m looking for a sweet and not overpowering with love stuff song for my schoo talent show coming up. Nothing Miley Cyrus or Taylor Swift or High School Musical please. Ive been thinking something along the lines of Halo by Beyonce or Molly Smiles by Jesse Spencer. Im open to almost all suggestions. Im a girl, so nothing really low please
Boats and Birds by Gregory and The Hawk- it is a REALLY REALLY good song, and, because it is not very popular so if you mess up a note, or lose your pitch or accidentally change key, most of the audience won’t notice. So that saves you the embarrassment of singing a really popular song that you either mess up and you get laughed at or singing a popular song and end up having someone else sing the same song. Even if you don’t pick this song, if i were you, i would sing a song that isn’t popular to help you with both of those situations.

Sweet, but not over powering with love? Well, first, you need to know your range. I don’t know what your range is so I’m going to just list songs that aren’t over done, but are amazing.
Those are all the ones I can think of now…even if this isn’t chosen as the best answer, but you’d like to more about which musicals and song writers these songs are from just let me know

1) "Someone Like You" (it is a Broadway song, and it is not overdone)
2) "Maybe This Time" (it starts off slowly, but it REALLY gets into it at the end…you will need to be able to give a powerful belt at fairly high notes for this…but since you were considering Halo…I’m assuming you have those belty high notes down.)
3) "Patterns" (again belty and slightly high at parts, but shows awesome emotion…it is slightly sad, but empowering…this is by Maltby and Shire)
4) "What I Did For Love" (this is an AWESOME song from A Chorus Line….it isn’t love as in male female…she is singing about her love for dance and how she is going to do what she has to for love…it’s a really good song)
5) "Valerie" (Amy Winehouse can get low, but this one is not deep)
6) "Love for Sale" (A kick butt Cole Porter song….starts out slow, but gets into it…it’s jazzy. Very good song as well)
7) "I’ll be There" (Jackson5…you cannot go wrong)
