The Lodging in Sonora has more to offer. You will be farther from the actual wedding site, but there is more to do if you arrive early or want to stay out late.  I have stayed at Inns of California. It is in the middle of downtown where you will find shopping, restaurants and bars.

Smart Transportation to and from Sonora:
Bling Bling Limo
(800) 495-0855

City Coach Cab
( 209) 532-0957

Another idea would be to find camp grounds in the area and pitch a tent.  Could be for some people.

Make sure to find out how far your choice of lodging is from the Lazy-Z Resort so you can have an idea of what to expect for traveling times. If they say they're booked online, you may want to call and double check.

Twain Harte Vacation Rentals
Great site to find a vacation rental. If you have a group of 4 or more people it is a great deal. Rent a house that breaks down to about 25-50 per person per night. It’s off season so you can usually find a place that has a two night stay rather than a week minimum
