How much work can a father miss when there is a birth in the family?

I heard that there was a law that said a new father could miss like 5 days at least? I’m not sure. My sister is about to have a baby and we’re wanting to know how many days can a new father take off? Please answer.

Parental leave is generally about a week for a father. I’m assuming it’ll change between businesses. It might pay off for the father to ask his employer.

My Maths teacher took about 2-3 weeks off, but that is in the UK.

  3. Depends on the company. Some allow more days than others.

This is the according to the US Dept. of Labor. Ask your employer if you qualify.
