What movie has a couple that sleeps on a mattress on the floor?

I’m looking for the title of a movie and can’t seem to think of the name. There is a couple who live in an apartment (I think) and all they have is a mattress on the floor. There is a pretty long scene where they show this couple enjoying life even though they have next to nothing. It takes place in the 60’s or 70’s I believe. I thought it was from Across the Universe, but I can’t seem to find that scene. Ideas?
