A skater girl hooks up with a Hills star in our next ClevverTV alert! Keep watching!

Yes, it’s true Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner are apparently totally hooking up! Or at least that’s what we’re hearing. Hey guys, I’m Joslyn Davis- welcome back to ClevverTV.

So at this point, the stories about Brody and Avril getting up close and personal are just rumors, so let’s just break down why speculation about the couple is heating up.

According to a source that’s close to the couple, A and B started quietly seeing each other a few weeks ago. They first ran into each other at Koi, where after dinner, they hopped in the same car and drove over to LA-hot-spot Voyeur together.

They were seen at the exact same club just days later, partying all night long. The same source says that they’re into each other and both like to have a good time. Plus, “they’re cute together.”

And there’s no reason for Avril and Brody to not spreading the love. They’re both very single at the moment. Brody broke up with his longtime girlfriend Jayde Nicole and Avril filed for divorce from her rocker-hubby Deryck Whibley.

So do you guys think that this new flirty duo has more going on than just a few parties and nights on the town? Will they stand the test of time, or is this just a winter fling? Hit the comments section with your review.

And make sure to follow us on twitter – that’s @ClevverTV for nonstop news updates on everything you’re dying to know. I’m Joslyn Davis- have a great day!

What is a one word adjective for someone who seeks glory?

March 1st, 2010

I can only think of ‘attention hog’ and stuff like that, but im positive there is a word that solely means that, i just cant think of it though.

any help would be great! thanks in advance :)

melodramatic? Not really a glory-seeker, but does work for attention hog.
Vain, egocentric, narcissist?
All of those mean mostly someone who loves themselves, still not glory-seeking, though…

What would I call the top part of an arbor when wanting to attach it to brick?

March 1st, 2010

I have 2 brick columns. I want to attach a gate between the columns and then attach a wood arbor top so I can grow climbing roses above my brick columns. Problem is, I cant find the top piece of an arbor. Is it called something different than an arbor top? Thanks.

It’s the arch but I don’t know of any pre-made, you’ll have to get one built or do one yourself. RScott

I am looking for free online resources for homeschooling 3rd and 4th grade.?

March 1st, 2010

I am looking for free online resources for homeschooling 3rd and 4th grade.

Brain Pop has some free resources. They even have a "free stuff" button to click on.

Have you joined the Homeschool Buyers Co-op yet? In addition to being able to buy curriculum at deeply discounted prices they have links to free curriculum and resources.

National Geographic Kids has games, videos, activities and more. http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/

History for Kids is a site meant for middle school age but I don’t think it is beyond some 3rd and 4th graders. Another History site for younger students is Kids Past. They have an online history text book and history games.

The Kids Know It network has links to free resources in all the major subjects along with featured learning activities.

If you need a free kids math site try Cool Math 4 Kids. If you want worksheets then Super Kids will have what you need.

Don’t forget Language Arts. Scholastic has free lessons and printables. Random House has reading lists by grade level with accompanying teacher guides. You can even buy the book from them if you want. Glencoe, which is one of my favorites, has excellent reading lists and study guides for the older or more advanced reader.

Hope that gives you a good starting point. Have fun!

How does having a married mother and father work for the benefit of children?

March 1st, 2010

Sexual liberals tell us that a mother and her girlfriend or a father and his boyfriend are just as good for parenting children as a married mother and father, but sociological data seem to suggest otherwise. Why are married biological parents so helpful for children?

Children raised by both biological parents are significantly healthier, happier and better adjusted emotionally than kids raised by single parents of either sex. They are less likely to live in poverty or engage in violent crime or sexual promiscuity and more likely to be successful in school, career, and marriage.

Same-sex couples, by definition, would have at best have only one biological parent.

Children need both biological parents. The sexes are different. Because sex differences are real, men and women parent differently. Men and women bring different, complementary skills to childrearing. Men are more likely to play expansively with their children than to do mundane care taking; women tend to be more practical. Mothers tend to be more responsive to their child’s immediate needs, while fathers tend to be more firm, more oriented to abstract standards of justice (right and wrong). Kids need both.

Mothers tend to emphasize the emotional security of their children, while fathers tend to stress competition and risk taking. Mothers tend to seek the immediate well-being of the child, while fathers tend to foster long-term autonomy and independence. Children of both sexes appear to learn self-control and responsibility primarily from their fathers. They fail to learn them when he’s not involved in their lives. Our national epidemic of fatherlessness has spawned an epidemic of antisocial children.

Children need both parents, because they learn different lessons from each. Neither fathers nor mothers are expendable. The presence of a father is critical to a male child’s learning self-control and appropriate male behavior, especially learning to respect women. Similarly, the presence of a father is vital for a female child’s self-respect and eventual development of a healthy adult sexuality. Children need mothers just as much. The presence of both parents seems to be necessary for ideally balanced emotional and mental development.

The social science evidence suggests that women teach children communion (the drive toward inclusion, connectedness, and relationship) and that men teach children agency (the drive toward independence, individuality, and self-fulfillment).

Because of the need for a stable, nurturing, educating home with two biological parents, marriage is a major public health issue and not just a private affair. Marriages that are exclusive, permanent, unconditional, and life-giving contribute to public health and longevity; marriages that fail any of these criteria and end in divorce create an enormous social, emotional, and health care burden for the couple, their children, and society.

Cheers,
Bruce

What sort of jewlery would a gay couple give for engagement?

March 1st, 2010

Im not planning on getting engaged, lol not yet anyway.

Anyway I’m a little curious as to what sort of jewelry a (male) gay couple would give/receive, because a diamond ring wouldn’t really work because I cant actually Imagine a guy wearing one. So Im just a little curious as to what sort of jewelry gay people would wear as a sign of their engagement.

they shouldn’t give any because if you are in the US most states still have the moral standing of not allowing homosexual "marriage" and with any luch the ones that do will soon pass things like Prop 8
